Choices

The concept of choices is so clear for me now, that anyway I can empower others to make their own choices, I am over the moon. Thanks for being here.

I hope anyone that reads this is poised on the cusp of self-discovery and empowerment. , I want to impart a simple, yet profound, realization that has been a massive struggle for me which is :

Ultimately, only we are to hold responsibility for our choices and decisions.

I have navigated situations (not well at times) that tested my patience and equanimity, yet I had to hold fast to the belief: "I don't make people angry, they choose their reaction; likewise, when people make me angry, I choose mine. No one is exempt." It is this conscious acknowledgment of choice that has recalibrated my understanding of life's challenges and triumphs.

Marcus Aurelius said, "Choose not to be harmed—and you won’t feel harmed. Don’t feel harmed—and you haven’t been." Let these words not just resonate with you, but also percolate deeply into your mindset. These are words to live life by. I only wish I had figured this out earlier, which is why I speak to it whenever I can, no matter how old the audience is. Embracing this concept of voluntary reaction can profoundly change how we interact with the others and the world at large

Let me treat you to a little slice of my life where this ethos of personal responsibility came sharply into focus. Happiness, a perennial pursuit often misconceived as a serendipitous gift, played the elusive muse until a moment of clarity struck me. it is, undeniably, a choice. However, this epiphany bears a caveat: the luxury of choice does not guarantee a lifetime of unwavering and correct decisions. We are beautifully flawed humans who oftentimes stumble, and it is precisely then that we must make it part of the dance, and treat ourselves with compassion and kindness.

With an unwavering and deep commitment, I stand by the assertion that the path we walk is carved by the choices we make. While it is entirely within your right to steer in any direction, I urge you with everythingI Know and have learned (the hard way) to weigh both the light and the shadows cast by those decisions. A life mapped by personal accountability is not a path devoid of challenges, but rather one that promises growth, resilience, and ultimately, a profound sense of fulfillment.

Let me just remind you of the immense power vested within you—the power to choose. Whether it is how you react, the emotions you harbor, the forgiveness you dispense, or the hate you harbor, each is a testament to your autonomy.

Envision a world where each of us consciously chooses our responses; envision the harmony that could ensue. Envision perhaps, even peace.

xoxo, Meg
